Before the technician arrives

Clear the space
Empty the appliance and make sure the technician can pull it out from the wall or counter.
Find the model number
Usually on a sticker inside the door, on the back, or behind the bottom panel. It speeds up parts enormously.
Note the symptoms
When it started, any error codes, and whether it happens on every cycle or only some.
